Maria keeps on practicing..

Hey guys,

the last few weeks were full of preparation for my live painting with Bruce Rimmell. Bruce ,an amazing british aritst, exhibited his "Minoan Honey and Other Stories" at Praxisgemeinschaft Marienplatz in Witten. I was asked to perform a face-painting there in respond to his very filigrane minoan-inspired art.
Photographer Barbara Zabka took photos there and as soon as I have the photos, I'll post them here, I promise!

Right now, I wanted to show you another thing I did some time ago. I wanted to do a fluoro-painting but neither had the time to prepare a shooting nor a fix idea. So i just asked my lovely boyfriend Mario to shave his face and let me get started painting without any plan. The picture I took -unfortunately- is in bad quality, but as it was just a sketch-on-skin and my very first try, I didn't have a photo-set built up.
But it shows more or less what my intention was. A colourful 30-minutes-fluoro-facepainting for beginners.

I hope you like it.

Thanks to Mio, my love, for supporting me and always being by my side when I need someone to cheer me up. I love you!

To all of you, I'll post the last exhibition's photos as soon as I have them.

Lots of love,
Maria

Back in Town! Poison Ivy Shooting in Witten

Hey again!

I know i haven't posted anything in decades. Shame on me!
There was so much trouble going on in the last few months. I changed my location and moved back to my hometown in Germany for health reasons and had to leave Barcelona behind.
Nevermind, I started a new life learning a new job and going on even more powerful than ever!!

I got some great news! In June I'm gonna paint in a gallery in NY! I got Carla Goldberg's confirmation a few weeks ago and am kind of so excited to go there!! In september there will be an exhibition of Mirca Art Group in Cologne where I'll expose 1-2 pictures of my works. Life couldn't get any better right now :)
For further information about the event and the exhibition pls contact me!

So, I was about to tell you about the last great shooting I did!
I was asked by a friend to make a Poison Ivy disguise for her for a game convention in Essen, Germany. I had 1 day to finish it and in my opinion it turned out great!
My parents helped me dying the hemp, glueing the leaves and stealing ivory from our garden :D
Unfortunately the photos didn't become good at all. So I had to ask another friend of mine, the amazing Elena, to be my Poison Ivy model for 1 day.
We had a fun time watching TV, eating Pizza and chatting a lot during the painting session.
We didn't have any further photo-equipment, so her houseplant and my Canon 1000D had to help out :D
Quote Elena: "Gosh, I don't want to take it off anymore! Can't I go to school like this tomorrow?"

Thanks for this amazing day, Elena&Jan!! You're such a great couple and I'm glad to know you!

Here's the fruit of my work and Elena's great patience (and Jan's incredible talent of lighting ;D)

I really hope you like it! :)
